The process begins by the debtor filling out a set of Client Intake Forms (see above link.)   The attorney will print out the forms, give them to their clients, who in turn fill them out and returns them to the attorney along with the required documents.  Many attorneys prefer these forms be filled out by hand because it is verification of the information the debtor actually provided since it is in their own handwriting.

The attorney returns the following to VirtualPetitions.Com by PDF or fax:

  1. Completed set of Client Intake Forms;
  2. Copy of the Credit Counseling Certificate;
  3. Six months of paycheck stubs or bank statements (if debtor is not paid by an employer).  If debtor is self-employed they will fill out the business income and expense page included inside the Client Intake Forms.

VirtualPetitions.Com begins the initial input (within 24 business hours of receipt) which involves taking the information from the Client Intake Forms and placing it into the proper areas of the Forms and Schedules of a bankruptcy petition.  During the process, VirtualPetitions.Com will compile a list of questions for the client intake interview (normally conducted by telephone) as well as an Attorney Summary Sheet for the attorney.

With attorney’s permission, VirtualPetitions.Com will call the debtor and obtain any missing information not provided on the Client Intake Forms.  This important interview is designed to uncover hidden assets and liabilities that many debtors omit due to their lack of knowledge in bankruptcy.  Attorneys benefit considerably from this step because we are helping to protect you from possible fines for not fulfilling due diligence.  This is only one reason why attorneys prefer to hire professionally trained VBAs like VirtualPetitions.Com.

Next, Virtual Petitions.Com conducts a wide range of different online researches to obtain market values, judgment liens and criminal activity.  These online searches are not simply a background search where we obtain previous addresses and employment records.  For the bankruptcy petition we are looking for different information in order to protect the debtor as well as the attorney we are working for.

Finally, VirtualPetitions.Com combines all this information into a draft of a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy petition which is emailed to the attorney in PDF format.  The attorney will review the document and make any corrections.  VirtualPetitions.Com will prepare a final bankruptcy petition for filing with the bankruptcy court.

The bankruptcy petition is electronically filed, either by the attorney or VirtualPetitions.Com under the attorney’s ECF.

If you utilize our Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy petition preparation services and a problem with the bankruptcy petition occurs at the 341 Meeting that is the result of our error, we will prepare any Amendments or other necessary documentation to correct the error in order to be in compliance with your local bankruptcy court.
